Wireless Health Strategies

Wireless Health Strategies
The Wireless Health group on LinkedIn serves as an ethical, curated forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships among individuals interested in the convergence of wireless technology with the continuum of consumer health (fitness, wellness, sports, and “aging in place”), clinical healthcare (preventive, chronic, and acute), and medical research.
Since its inception in 2009, the group has grown to include several thousand globally-located individuals by fulfilling an unmet need to connect all professional constituencies with a shared interest in leveraging wireless technology to provide connectivity and mobility in health and healthcare. These hallmarks of wireless health enable personal health empowerment, improved quality and access to healthcare, a reduction in overall costs, all while improving the health and well-being of all of us.
Wireless, radio frequency technology – which has been utilized for over 100 years – is just now beginning to effect a profound change in the world of health, healthcare, and medical research. Wireless health solutions encompass any combination of applicable body sensors, mobile and static devices, and supporting infrastructure and are used as a data communication medium, or sometimes just the radio signal itself can be of great utility.
For consumers, wireless health solutions have initiated a revolutionary new personal health paradigm empowering them to better manage and improve their health, prevent disease, and live more connected, fuller, and independent lives. These solutions also lower household expenditures.
When intelligently implemented within systems of care, wireless health solutions are improving patient outcomes while, paradoxically, also reducing costs in our healthcare systems (aka “bending the cost curve”). Moreover, many solutions offer the opportunity to address global public health issues in unique, low cost ways.
This is truly an exciting time and I’m delighted to invite all professionals to join the group so that we can work together to accelerate the adoption of wireless health and mHealth!
