History

Established in Jbeil (Byblos), Lebanon, in 1950, Byblos Bank is a leading financial institution focused on domestic and selected overseas markets. After nearly six decades of consistent growth, Byblos Bank now has an extensive branch network of 78 branches spread evenly across Lebanon. The Group also has expanded to several other countries, including Belgium, France, United Kingdom, Cyprus, Sudan, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Armenia, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Byblos Bank in Armenia

Founded in 2007, Byblos Bank Armenia C.J.S.C. is the outcome of a 100% stake acquisition of Byblos Bank in International Trade Bank in Armenia. In 2008, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) participated in the chartered capital of Byblos Bank in Armenia with the following shares: EBRD-25%, OFID-10%. Byblos Bank has a network of three branches in Armenia and runs as an independent subsidiary of Byblos Bank , the 9th to join the list of subsidiaries overseas. Byblos Bank covers consumer, commercial, and correspondent banking, treasury and capital markets, thus serving the needs of Armenian nationals and the Armenian Diaspora present in the USA, Europe, Lebanon, Syria, and other parts of the world.

Consumer Banking

Byblos Bank offers consumer banking services including a wide range of retail products such as housing loans, auto loans, personal loans, and small business loans; debit cards to be used inside and outside Armenia; and current accounts, easy save accounts, and term deposit contracts.

Commercial Banking

The Commercial Banking team provides varied and tailored products and services in: Trade Finance: Import and Export, letter of credits, Pre and Post financing; Corporate Finance: Credit facilities structured in accordance with the customers’ cash flows and provided to meet their financial needs; Project and Structured Finance: Medium- and long-term finance for new capital development and expansion of industrial projects.
